The meal that I just reheated (in a valiant-slash-lazy attempt to eat "in") was almost six days old. Saturday's lunch...

Well ...if it smelt okay it should be all right. If it startd to go bad it may just result in toilet activities wrapping up sooner than usual. You may not feel any discomfort at all.
It's funny, when I first looked at the picture on your post, my reaction was "Mmmmmm!". After reading your post, I looked at it again and was like "Hmmmm?"
